Brussels, October 2011

At the end of October, I was invited back to Brussels by Bains Connective, an experimental arts laboratory who coordinate and support a fascinating array of artistic practices.

On the 27th I gave a lecture on soundmaps and soundwalking methods (details in the image above), and on the 28th I led a silent soundwalk through the city (details here).
I was delighted to meet a really interesting group of artists, researchers and theorists, including Trudy Moore, Miquel Casaponsa, John Grande, and Claire Stragier & Annelien Vermeir, who were all in the final stages of a residency at Bains Connective, and Lilia Mestre, a performance artist and the artistic coordinator at Bains.

Field recordings from my stay can be heard on the acoustic map here.
Special thanks to Lilia and Diana Raspoet from Bains Connective, and Luea Ritter from Arpia, for inviting me to Brussels and for coordinating activities.
