This, the final recording of the hebdomadal sound project, was taken on the penultimate day of 2013 from inside the spacious Turbine Hall of Tate Modern art gallery. A very busy day; it was a struggle to observe any of the visual art, but it was a wonderful building to listen to.

While visiting family in the south of England for the winter holidays, a break in wet weather afforded a walk near Fritham in the New Forest. Stopping beside a group of holly trees in a predominantly featureless expanse, I recorded wind through the trees, birds, and some distant wild ponies. I didn’t have decent wind protectors with me, so there is a bit of wind rumble on the recording, but nothing too terrible.

Week 50
Double-decker bus, Edinburgh
December 16th
The following recording, taken from the top deck of a number 5 Lothian bus from London Road towards Clerk Street, is quite a monotonously boring one. Often listening live to something is far more interesting than a recording of it.

Something a little different this week. I spent an afternoon walking and recording along the River Almond towards Cramond Island, and decided to put together a small sound map to host some of the recordings. All recordings were made between 2-5.30pm; I started my walk from near the A90, so time progresses as you move toward Cramond Island causeway.
