Hebdomadal sound project: December 2016

Week 52
River Taff, Hailey Park
December 29th, 3.10pm

The River Taff has been one of the focal points of my walks in and around Cardiff since I’ve lived here; this is reflected in the recordings I have made over the past year. It is fitting, then, that the final recording for the project is of the Taff. The recording was made on its banks adjacent to Hailey Park, Llandaff North.

Week 49
Common starlings, Gabalfa
December 4th, 11.05am

At this time of the year, it’s a pleasure to watch and listen to common starlings as they roost together. The following is a recording of a small daytime roost (about 40 birds) that I have been listening out for over the last couple of weeks, in a treetop in Gabalfa, Cardiff.
